Rise Up

Posted on 05/14/202505/14/2025 by admin

This was written when Johnson was still in power and with subsequent leaders still chasing the right wing votes, it has still a very clear message.

Aspire to be better, forge ahead
Unless your disabled, poor or dead.
There is nothing left for you to shed.
Just keep quiet and bugger off.

Do not shout or seek to quell,
Society’s broken booming bell
Chiming now for all to tell.
To follow those bleeding toffs.

Educated at Eton in charmless classes
Perpetrating their hatred on the unwashed masses,
On the commoners’ backs 40 more lashes.
For they must bear the most.

How can we change this broken system?
Which creaks and groans like a rusted cistern
A rotting pile bereft of wisdom.
Cocaine charged with champaign toasts.

They grin, spew, and regale their spite,
Breaking the spirit against their might,
Lying with torrents of unadulterated shite.
Crushing all under their heel.

Another year of their conviction,
Fulfilling their unholy sacred mission,
To fill their pockets, their predilection
With greed their only zeal.

So how to curb their state of play,
With jingoism and greed going their way
Band together and we can rule the day
Together arm in arm.

Not to be divided into warring camps
Or deluded by their fictitious shams,
Rise up, and reclaim this land.
Its time to end this harm.
