Sliding slowly into silken relief
slumbrous eyes awash with sleep
somniferous dreams cascade at last
showing images from an imagined past.
Fragmented illusions cavort around
anaesthetizing fears to stay bound,
dormant and lulled to drowning depths
waving bye to those that seeks to wreck
and diminish all that I have become
banish the nightmares so I won’t succumb.
