One day

Posted on 06/02/202506/02/2025 by admin

One of these days I’ll be a triumphant giant,
I just need to eat a bit more Weetabix,
they all said.
Walk briskly, exercise more
maybe do some stretches.
“Think big” my brother told me,
he should know, as he touched a nearby cloud.
I could only touch the side of the bin,
I tried, nothing changed.
“maybe you need some iron” said Dad
who had just eaten a field of spinach,
I couldn’t do it,
I hated spinach, it was green and inedible.
“Maybe happy thoughts” said Mum.
yeah mum I’ll do that thing,
you try to be happy when your three foot tall.
Amongst the towering titans, always gazing up at them.
One day though, I’ll be a triumphant giant.
Walking the earth, wading through cloud.
Not dwarfed by a wheelie bin.
