Morphine

Posted on 05/11/202505/11/2025 by admin

Hot daggers driven deep into vertebrae,
Magma seeping into disks,
Plunging nerves into liquid fire
The enduring pain, waiting to be vanquished.
A cocktail, shaken, definitely not stirred,
Shaped, coloured beads to be eaten,
Drowned with water.
Down, down, down the hatch,
Disintegrating, infusing, negating the senses,
Blinding synapses, fooling, drooling,
“Medicated relief”, Morpheus whispers.
A hateful adulterous kiss,
Stealing pain, slaughtering goodness.
Leaving a zombie in my place,
Empty eyed, empty headed.
Dull, greyed, dead.
