Gazing over the crowd

Posted on 07/16/202507/16/2025 by admin

The poet gazed transfixed at the crowd
who ardently hung on his very words.
Observing the pinnacle of his performance
until the applause rapaciously resounds.

They settle down as he settle the score
pulling another tale of wounded woe.
Embellished with sardonic refrains,
the poet gazed transfixed at the room.

The mob beguiled, bewildered and bewitched
mesmerised during epic poetry prose,
lulled by rhythm, it made them glassy eyed
who ardently hung on his very words.

Poetry delivered in an exposition blitz
the poet tying himself to a verbal crescendo.
Aiming for them to see an exulting zenith
Observing the pinnacle of his performance.

The poems finally slowed to a sauntering pace,
as he descended to the last weeping words.
He bowed as silence enveloped sound,
until the applause rapaciously resounds.
