It’s not like hammering Blank Verse,
Counting syllables, fingers haemorrhaged
It has a life of its own.
It can rhyme, it doesn’t have to
You don’t need to scheme a scheme
Or think about rhythm, if its driven, or if line ends go on a bit.
Becoming unwieldy,
or
short.
Just so they,
can look as if you know what,
– enjambment is
– and how to use it, does any one?
You can do whatever you like
Chuck in some alliteration, always allowing it to flow
And if you get some one asking about it too much
Just say it was a think piece
a thunk piece, to promote thought peace.
