Ogre

Posted on 07/30/2025 by admin

In the lair decorated with darkness
remnants of bone lay shattered under foot,
we came across a fearsome ogre
bathed in blood carrying a meat hook.

Dripping with gore and slime ridden slaughter
it turned and opened its crimson hell maw
yelling a curdling invidious cry
a deep baleful paralysing roar.

I stood and watched it dispatch the others
hacking bodies, tearing limb, munching bone,
until, as coward I could finally flee his den
to the sanctity of my home.

At nights I still hear their final screams
the ogre with hook buried in bodies deep.
Smiling sinisterly with ominous malice
The true loathsome master of my sleep
